Homebodies, like everyone else, are capable of dating. It’s time to erase the misconception that homebodies are complete introverts who are unadventurous. They can be someone capable of having fun or fun to be around.
I consider myself a homebody because I’ve come to appreciate and love staying at home more than going out. I think I’m an ambivert, which is between introvert and extrovert. I love going on dates with my significant other or going on a vacation.
You may want to consider these date ideas for homebodies. You may be surprised to learn that there are so many fun things that you can do without the need to go out of the house.
Date Idea 1: A Different Kind of a Romantic Dinner
It’s common to have a romantic dinner after watching a movie together. You may do the same but with a twist. You may order your dinner, but isn’t it more exciting to cook your dinner yourselves?
Before the dinner date at home, you may try cooking different dishes that you fancy and see which one you would like to have when date night comes. For the movie, you both can decide which one you want to watch. It does not need to be a romantic film, although that works too.
Date Idea 2: Set a Pool Party for Two
If you don’t have a pool at home, you can always buy an inflatable one. If you’re fine with a bathtub, that too should suffice. You can prepare bbq, drinks, snacks, and other things that a normal pool party should have except the number of people.
If you ask me, I prefer to have a pool outside so we can go stargazing at night while in the pool with our drinks. Create a romantic setting to get you in the mood.
Date Idea 3: Try a Pajama Party with a Twist
Who says that you can’t have a pajama party just the two of you? Sure you can, and I said that it’s a pajama party with a twist. Instead of telling stories of long ago, you can do a drinking game until one or both of you call it quits.
Watch your favorite movie or show and choose the character that you will follow. Each time your chosen character smiles or laughs, or says a particular word, you should drink. The same goes for your date.
You can discuss the prize of the winner – in cash or in kind.
Date Idea 4: Prepare some Baked Goods Together
You may consider attending a cooking class together as a sort of date. In this case, you can take baking lessons together by watching a tutorial on a YouTube channel. You can browse and decide on the baked goods that you both want to try before you do the actual baking.
When it’s done, you can choose to enjoy the baked goods while watching a movie or more videos on baking or other crafty ideas.
Date Idea 5: Watch Your Wedding Video and Rekindle Your Passion
This date idea applies only to married couples with a wedding video. You may also talk about the things when you first met up to the point where you both are right now. Watching your wedding video can help bring the spark to your relationship once more and rekindle your passion.
Couples sometimes need a nudge to remember how they were when they first started going out just to keep the flame of passion burning. It is quite difficult to ignite it once it died down. You may choose to relive the moment once a year or whenever you feel like you should.
Date Idea 6: Meet in a Virtual Dating Game
If meeting face-to-face is impossible, you may try the virtual dating game. If you and your significant other are using Snapchat, you can try one of Snapchat’s snap games. You can both go there and meet and have a virtual date.
Date Idea 7: Go Dancing
Put on your dancing shoes and dance the night away.
You both may need to brush up on some dance moves on the actual date night. It’s also a perfect time to try new dance moves.
Date Idea 8: Have a Picnic in the Backyard
You may choose to set up a portable picnic table or use a comfy picnic blanket. Prepare the foods and drinks that you need and put them in a picnic basket.
You can play some games if you want or simply talk about things that you would normally discuss. Have fun and just enjoy the day.
Date Idea 9: Set a Date to Make a Vision Board
For your vision board, you can plan the goals of your relationship or the future that you want to establish together. You will learn more about each other as you learn about each other’s goals.
Date Idea 10: Go Stargazing
If the sky is clear and there are many stars, you can spread a blanket in the spot where you can view the gorgeous night sky.
You may even choose to set up an inflatable mattress, cozy blanket, and some pillows to make stargazing more comfortable. Snuggle closer and simply forget the rest of the world for a moment.
Date Idea 11: Spend a Day in a Spa
Well, not in an actual spa but at home. You can give each other a massage, put on face masks, and/or do other things that a spa can provide. You may also choose to just meditate together and feel like a new person afterward.
Date Idea 12: Visit the Louvre in Paris
The Musée du Louvre is the largest museum in the world. It holds thousands of the world’s masterpieces of the finest artists that ever lived. What if you can tour the Louvre together without leaving home?
The Louvre has a virtual museum tour that allows you to view the things that you can see on the actual site. It’s like you’re walking inside the museum to see the paintings and other works of art.
Date Idea 13: Go on a Treasure Hunt
You don’t even need to prepare some “treasures” to bury to carry out this activity. You can simply agree on the things to look for in your backyard or garden and see who finds them first. Have a blast looking for things.
Homebodies are no different from most people who want a sincere romantic relationship. These date ideas for homebodies also suit other people who wish to try something different but fun.
